I'm a little sister. No matter how old I am, I will always be a little sister. Any younger sibling will tell you that we never stop seeking the approval of our older siblings. But I think the journey for my big brother's approval may have reached its pinnacle. He gave me the best compliment the other weekend, and I realized that I have my job to thank for it.
Let me give you a little backstory. My brother Ryan has had it in his mind since the first time "Who Wants to be a Millionare" aired that he would one day appear on that show. He takes his knowledge of random trivia very seriously. I had never thought of myself as a trivia guru, but the other weekend my family and I were playing Trivial Pursuit together, and I nailed nearly every question. Several times, after answering what seemed an impossibly difficult question to the rest of my family, I was asked, "How did you know that?" My answer, inevitably, was, "We did a book on it." When the game was over, my big brother patted me on the back and said, in all sincerity, "Manda, you're my new 'Phone a Friend.'" The dork beaming with pride? Yeah, that's me.
