We all know that there will always be annoying things about work. There is technology that doesn't work properly. There are mistakes that are caught too late. There are some days when it seems like you'll never make a deadline, no matter how many hours you put in.
But most weeks, as Monday morning approaches, I look forward to going to work. I say "most weeks" because I'm pretty sure no one would be fooled if I said there weren't some weekends I wish would last a little longer!
At the end of the day, I get to work with passionate and innovative authors and illustrators and coworkers to create fun, meaningful books for kids. I get to be creative and collaborative and play a small part in building young readers' confidence in and love for reading, storytelling, and learning.
So with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, I'm taking a moment to be thankful for my super smart, super creative colleagues and all the great work we get to do to help bring the love of reading to children.
