Ever wonder what "Going Digital" really means? After an informal survey around the office and some email exchanges from friends and family, I wanted to share my quick findings and let everyone have a chance to weigh in.
Friends, Family, Colleagues:
“It means opening doors.”
"TV is digital, photography is digital."
“Digital to me means online access anywhere.”
“Accessing information through multiple devices.”
"Going from old to new. Taking another step up in technology"
Librarians:
“As a school librarian I am teaching my students to use digital products to help them learn in the safest most efficient way without cutting and pasting information. I want them to leverage technology program to show a clear understanding of a topic.”
“Giving students the ability to learn at any time they want to know something, they have access but it is my job to help direct them to the best and most appropriate products, programs and websites.”
Teacher:
“Digital should make my life easy. I can guide them to the right spot, students can learn independently.”
“I can set students up in front of a computer and provide access to technology and when there is innate sense of love of learning if giving the right digital product.’
“A new way to show them they understand where they can use the Internet to research and present their findings for projects using 21st Century Skills.”
“Going digital breeds independence for both students and me. So for example when a quiz is given and I don’t have to grade it, creates more time for me to provide one-on-one instruction for students.”
Capstone Digital believes “going digital” creates opportunities for students to leverage technology and award winning content from Capstone Publishers, Capstone Press, Compass Point Books, Picture Window Books, Stone Arch Books and Heinemann-Raintree to instill a love of reading. We bring the books to life to captivate a student’s imagination, and build confident readers.
Here is your chance! Tell us what "Going Digital" means to you!
