Sounds like you need one of those perfect pets. It's a cat or dog that is battery operated but looks very realistic. They are in a sleeping position and the stomach moves up and down, as if breathing. It can be freaky to see, but they are great. I put one under my Christmas tree in the school library and tell the kids to keep quiet so they don't wake up the puppy. They love it. FYI - The principal came in screaming and told me to take the dog home the first year I had it. She thought it was real. We had a great laugh at her expense.
