A bonus post on your Monday! We wanted our readers to be among the first to know about our new contest for kids!
Who is your hero? Is it a teacher, neighbor, or grandparent? That’s exactly the question we’re challenging kids to answer in our new writing contest.
We’re partnering with our friends at DC Entertainment for "Be A Super Hero. Read!," a contest inviting children in grades 3-6 to write about a real hero in their lives. They can describe the “super powers” of their real-life heroes who may possess qualities like courage, generosity, leadership, intelligence, or imagination.
Among the phenomenal prizes for the first-place winner include a VIP trip for four to Warner Bros. Animation Studios and DC Entertainment Offices. Plus, the hero described in the winning entry wins a $2,500 donation to the charity of his/her choice!
The contest starts today and runs through April 15. So help us spread the word and get kids thinking about their real-life heroes.
Starting on May 15, kids will have the chance to vote online for their favorite hero and ultimately decide our "Be A Super Hero. Read!" winner!
